Cllr Trevor Colbourne

My wife Heather and I moved to Uppingham in 2019, to be closer to family. We live on The Elms Estate , a short walk from town.

Uppingham attracted us with its historic buildings, independent shops, and wonderful countryside. The friendliness and community spirit of fellow residents allowed us to settle quickly into our great market town.

I willingly involve myself in Uppingham's voluntary sector. In addition to my Town Councillor role, I chair both The Elms Residents Association and Leicester Road Allotments Association, affiliated to Neighbourhood Forum and related organisations including Uppingham in Bloom. I am also one of the valuable team of Hopper drivers.

Representing all Uppingham residents, I seek to highlight local needs and concerns. Working tirelessly in collaboration with fellow councillors, I promote actionable solutions for the benefit of the whole community.

I retired in 2014 from a varied 38 year professional career in Retail, Commercial and Corporate banking with HSBC Bank. I then completed a First Class Honours degree in Humanities (Classical Studies & Philosophy) with The Open University. I keep active by playing tennis (Rutland Tennis Academy), cricket (Uppingham Town Cricket Club) and gym membership (Uppingham School Sports Centre). I am a member of the Leicester based Phoenix Writers Group. I am also a keen amateur gardener.

Cllr Colbourne chairs the Finance & General Purposes Committee.
