Uppingham Neighbourhood Plan is 'made' by Rutland County Council

Deputy Mayor Alec Crombie commented on the news from Rutland County Council: "Following the massive majority vote of Uppingham people in favour of a local plan for our Town, the Uppingham Neighbourhood Plan has now been adopted by Rutland County Council in full Council on 11 January"

He further added, "RCC the planning authority for Rutland, will in future have to use our Neighbourhood Plan to help decide planning applications in our neighbourhood. This is a victory for localism in action, sustaining as it does a measure of control for the future".

Finally Alec praised the community volunteers: "Much credit goes to our local volunteer activists who have blazed this trail"

The next phase of the Neighbour Plan will emerge as RCC finalises the consultation on the Local Plan in 2016.
